How to Take Care of Your Pet Gerbil

As gerbils are desert creatures they are cleaner pets as they do not produce as much waste and do not drink as much; also they do not smell as much as other rodents. This means that gerbils are generally easy to look after in comparison to some other pets and are neither nocturnal nor diurnal as they have many wake/sleep cycles. These brilliant animals live for three years on average so make sure that you are prepared to take on the responsibility of their entire lifespan.
Chinchillas are very active and boisterous pets and are also extremely rewarding. They have an amazingly long life-span for rodents and live on average 15 years, with many living 18-22 years. This means they are a lifelong pet.
A lot different to their stereotype rats are amazing, intelligent, sociable and loving creatures. The rats that are generally running through the streets are not the same type as those you get as a pet. There are many different types.
Guinea pigs are extremely sociable creatures and tend to get lonely if you do not spend time with them every day. Many people believe that guinea pigs are easy to care for and do not need a lot of attention but it is in fact the opposite and you will need to be dedicated when adopting such a fantastic animal. It is good to keep these excellent pets in same sex pairs as they could also become very lonely on their own.
